Run a job from start to finish
Start a job, track time, add photos and checklists, get the customer's signature and create the invoice when you're done.
Updated
Everything that happens on site is recorded on the job page: who worked and for how long, the photos, the checklists and the customer's sign-off. Crews can do all of it from a phone.
On the day
- Open the job and click Start job. The job moves to In progress and your time starts.
- On the Field record tab, tap Take photo (on a phone or tablet) or Add photos to add pictures as you go.
- If there's a checklist to run, click Start under Inspections on the same tab. See Run an inspection and share the report.
- Record materials, dump fees or subcontractor costs on the Costs & billing tab with Add expense. Tick Rebill to the customer to put it on the invoice.
- When the work is done, click Complete job.
Complete the job
- Add Completion notes: what was done, and anything the customer or the office should know.
- Hand over your phone or tablet so the customer can sign under Customer signature (optional).
- If your role can invoice, tick Create the invoice now, and Email it to the customer straight away if you want it sent.
- Click Mark complete.
Completing a job stops your time and, if you've switched it on, starts the Thank you and review request automation.
Good to know
- When more than one person works a job, each person uses Clock in and Clock out in the Time clock panel to log their own time.
- The Profitability panel compares the job's value with the labor, expenses and materials so far. Set hourly rates on the Team page so labor counts.
- Expenses you rebill are added to the invoice with a 15% markup.
- Not ready to invoice when you finish? Click Create invoice on the completed job later. It copies the work items and any rebillable expenses, and takes off any deposit the customer has already paid. See Create and send an invoice.
- Photos are sorted into before, during and after automatically, depending on whether the job has started or finished. They're shared with the customer in their customer portal.
- Print work order and Directions are in the job's ⋯ menu.
