Turn an estimate into a job
Create a job from an approved estimate in one click, or book work straight onto the schedule without an estimate.
Updated
A job is work you've sold and need to do. It carries the line items, the address and the crew, and records everything that happens on site.
From an approved estimate
- Open the accepted estimate and click Create job.
- Check the Job title and Priority.
- Set Schedule for and the Estimated duration. If you don't have a date yet, clear the Schedule for field and the job waits in Unscheduled.
- Click Create job.
Every accepted line carries over to the job. Optional extras the customer didn't tick are left off.
Book a job without an estimate
- Go to Jobs and click New job.
- Choose the customer, give the job a Job title and write the Scope / instructions for the crew.
- Choose the Service address, Priority, Start, Duration and Crew. Clear Start if you haven't picked a date.
- Under What are you charging for?, add services from your price book. The invoice is built from these later.
- Tick the people doing the work under Assign technicians, and click Create job.
Good to know
- A job with a start time goes on the calendar as Scheduled. A job without one waits in Unscheduled, ready to drag onto the calendar. See Schedule jobs and plan the day.
- Only people marked Can be scheduled on jobs on the Team page appear under Assign technicians.
- Jobs move through Unscheduled, Scheduled, Dispatched, In progress, On hold, Complete and Invoiced. On the Jobs page, choose Board to drag jobs between those columns.
- To cancel a job, choose Cancel job from the job's ⋯ menu. It comes off the calendar. A job that has already been invoiced can't be cancelled.
- For the day itself, see Run a job from start to finish.
