Run an inspection and share the report

Use a checklist on site to record the condition of the property and the work, then give the customer a clear report.

Updated

Inspections are checklists your crew fills in on site: pass or fail checks, yes or no questions, ratings, notes and photos. When one is complete, your customer gets a report they can open on any device.

Your account comes with an inspection template. Edit it or add your own under Inspections → Templates.

Run one on a job

  1. Open the job and go to the Field record tab.
  2. Under Inspections, click Start, choose a Template and click Start.
  3. Work down the list: tap Pass or Fail, Yes or No, pick a rating, type a note, or tap Take photo or Add photo. Checks that don't apply can be marked N/a.
  4. Write an overall Summary for the customer.
  5. Click Complete when you're done.

Answers save themselves as you go. If you lose signal, they're kept on your phone and sent the next time you open the inspection. You can also click Save progress and come back later.

Share the report

  1. On the completed inspection, find Customer report.
  2. Copy the link and send it to your customer, or click Preview to see it first.

The report shows your logo, a pass rate and every check — passed checks show as Pass, and failed checks or "no" answers as Flagged — plus your summary and photos. It also appears in the customer's portal under Property reports.

Make your own template

  1. Go to Inspections and click New template.
  2. Give it a Template name, then add checks with Add check. For each one, set the section, the question and the answer type: Pass / fail, Yes / no, Rating 1–5, Photo, Notes or Number.
  3. Click Save template.

Good to know

  • Word yes/no questions so that "yes" is the good answer. A "no" shows as Flagged on the customer's report.
  • The pass rate counts only pass/fail and yes/no checks.
  • Photos added to an inspection are shown to the customer on the report.
  • A completed inspection can't be changed, but you can print it with Print report.
