Set up your company details, tax and branding
Add the address, phone, email, tax rate and logo that appear on your estimates, invoices and the emails your customers get.
Updated
Your company details appear on every estimate and invoice, at the top of the pages your customers open, and at the bottom of the emails Recoatly sends for you. It takes about five minutes to get them right.
Company details
- Go to Settings (at the bottom of the menu) and open the Company tab.
- Check your Company name, and fill in your Phone, Email and Website.
- Under Business address, add your street, city, state or region and postal code.
- Under Regional, check your Country, Currency, Measurement and Time zone.
- Click Save changes.
The Email here matters: when a customer replies to an email Recoatly sent for you, the reply goes to this address. Use an inbox you check every day.
Set your tax rate
New accounts start with tax at 0%, because only you know whether you're registered and which rate applies where you work.
- In Settings → Company, find the rate field under Regional. It's named after your tax — for example Sales tax rate or VAT rate.
- Enter your rate as a percentage, for example
7.25. - To show a different name on your documents, change the Tax label.
- Click Save changes.
Logo, color and standard wording
- Open Settings → Documents & branding.
- Next to Logo, click Upload and choose an image. It's saved straight away and appears on your estimates, invoices, customer emails and the customer portal.
- Pick a Brand colour. It's used for the buttons and accents on the pages and emails your customers see.
- Edit the Default terms (added to every new estimate and invoice), the Estimate footer and the Invoice footer.
- Click Save changes.
Good to know
- A new tax rate applies to new estimates and invoices. Ones you've already created keep the rate they were made with.
- For services that are exempt from tax, untick the tax box when you edit the service in your price book. You can also untick Taxable on a single line of an estimate or invoice.
- Switching Measurement between imperial and metric doesn't convert the services already in your price book — update their units and prices yourself.
- Only owners and administrators can change these settings.
